Apple is allegedly experiencing production delays for its rumored iPhone 5S, according to a KGI Securities investor note posted by AppleInsider. The next-generation handset is said to be delayed due to hiccups with assembly and availability of "numerous components," pushing the expected shipment time-frame back to late September.

"While shipments forecasts may still grow sharply in 4Q13, we are concerned iPhone 5S may face the same problem as its predecessor, namely that by the time supply matures, demand will already have waned, hurting shipments," writes KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

The research firm suggests a cheaper iPhone model, built from plastic rather than the current iPhone 5's aluminum construction, may beat the 5S to market with an early-September release and a $450-$550 retail price. Fall shipments for the rumored cheaper model are forecast to reach 26 million units, in contrast to 32 million units for the iPhone 5S.

Kuo downplays the possibility of a Retina-equipped iPad mini for 2013, however the firm leaves open the possibility of a cheaper Mini slated for the end of the year. In the meantime, KGI expects a redesigned 9.7-inch model to serve as the focal point of Apple's tablet lineup with an expected early-September release date.

Circling back to Apple's computer offerings, KGI expects an iMac powered by Intel's Haswell platform to ship late in August. The all-in-one is said to arrive ahead of a new Retina MacBook Pro, also outfitted with a Haswell chip, which is believed to be slated for mid September.

My gosh. You guys are nothing but parrots! Maybe more like parrots that repeat parrots. Dig some facts to present. Anything that has the word "rumored" in it, stay away from. 95% of Apple rumors at 100% guesses or just journalist spreading crap.

I concur. This is the same BS these bozos were spreading last time with the iPhone 5, the iPhone 4s, and iPhone 4 before that. To say that suply resatraints hurt sales and public enthusiasm waned is pure unadulterated BS. Apple sold everything they could ship nad continued t sell more of each itteration of the iPhone than they had ever sold before.
John Gruber of DaringFireball has a piece this morning regarding this type of narrative right before Apple posts it's earnings.
