LG has issued invitations to the media teasing its upcoming G2 flagship reveal on August 7. The successor the Optimus G was first teased in early July where the company hinted that it was planning to drop the 'Optimus' branding for its flagship handsets. The latest teaser confirms that the device will its volume controls placed on the rear as seen in previous photos, and also reveals that the device will feature finger print scanning tech seemingly embedded in its display.

The G2 is thought to center on a 5.2-inch 1080p display with an entire display assembly that is just 2.2mm thick, while its bezel has been narrowed to just 2.3mm. LG has already announced that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz will power it. The SoC also integrates Qualcomm's Adreno 330 GPU with both the CPU and GPU sharing 3GB of system RAM.
