Groupon has announced an update for its Breadcrumb iPad point-of-sale app
, featuring a new offline payment system. The software will now store transactions for up to an hour when no WiFi is available, and then automatically process everything once a connection becomes available. Groupon redemption has also been built directly into the app and will provide users with a tally of how many vouchers have been redeemed. In addition, Breadcrumb POS 1.2
comes with seven preloaded menus and inventory lists for hair and nail salons, spas, studios, wine bars, cafes and retail establishments. The app is available as a free download. Breadcrumb POS requires the merchant to sign up for a Breadcrumb Payments account that charges 1.8 percent plus 15 cents per credit card transaction for Visa, MasterCard and Discover. AMEX rates vary by business type.

The Presto Gigabit USB 3.0 adapter sells for $40 and can be purchased online and through authorized resellers.
