LG could be developing a new Android tablet, according to a new rumor. The electronics producer is said to be working on the LG G Pad, a tablet with an 8.3-inch, 1920x1200-resolution display, and would in theory be the latest tablet-format device from the company since it introduced the 8.9-inch Optimus Pad
Sources of Techblog.gr state
that it will have a quad-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM. In terms of design, it is said to be "very thin and lightweight" with an aluminum backing, and will have a thin bezel which will help it fit into a back pocket, despite the screen size. Though it is said not to have a pen-based input, like the Samsung Galaxy Note
series, it will apparently have an optional cellular network connection.
While LG has not let slip any hint of such a tablet, the potential G Pad name fits in with the change of branding in the Optimus line of devices, such as with the G2
. It is suggested that LG will be showing off the device at the IFA trade show in Berlin early next month.
