British supermarket chain Tesco has launched a seven-inch tablet, confirming earlier rumors
. The Hudl
, a relatively-generic Android tablet, will be shipping with apps and links to all of Tesco's digital services pre-installed, allowing it to push streaming services BlinkBox and Clubcard TV to its customers in a similar manner to Amazon and its Kindle Fire
Behind the 1,440x900 display is a quad-core 1.5GHz processor with 16GB of microSD-expandable storage, and a battery said to last up to nine hours when used for video. Offering front and rear cameras, a Micro-HDMI port, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and dual-band Wi-Fi, but no cellular network options, it comes supplied with a stock installation of Android 4.2.2 and a choice of four colors.
Tesco will be putting the Hudl tablet on sale from September 30th for £119 ($190), with customers able to buy it using Clubcard Boost, exchanging their usual Tesco vouchers for double their value off the tablet.
