The US branch of Virgin Mobile
will start selling the iPhone 5s and 5c on October 1, according to a pair of Twitter posts by the carrier. Prices for the phones have yet to be announced, but will likely be in line with previous Virgin iPhone launches. Despite being a national carrier riding on the Sprint network, the Virgin launch will coincide with a host of regional carrier rollouts
The main advantage of Virgin is monthly fees. Although subscribers have to buy phones at off-contract prices, the carrier's phone plans can cost as little as $35 per month for a plan with 300 minutes, unlimited texting, and up to 2.5GB of unthrottled 3G or LTE data. The top-tier $55 option is completely unlimited except for data restrictions. Each plan can be made $5 cheaper by signing up for auto-pay.
