Android version 4.3
will be reaching the Samsung Galaxy S 4
in October, according to a European carrier's update roadmap. SFR
of France has revealed that, just as reported earlier
, the Galaxy S 4 will be the first of three Samsung devices to get the update to 4.3 Jelly Bean, with the Galaxy S III
and Galaxy Note II
both getting it at a later time.
A table discovered by GSM Arena
shows that both the 3G and 4G LTE versions of the S III and Note II devices will have it rolled out in November or December, through the Samsung Kies desktop application and through an over-the-air update. The HTC One
will also receive the update, though in October and only as an over-the-air update.
While the schedule relates specifically to SFR, it can also be used as a general guideline for other carriers to issue their own versions of the software update, though since the carriers need to amend the update to serve their own networks and to add their own apps, the schedule will vary from carrier to carrier. Android 4.3 is already being used by the Google Nexus device range, and on the Galaxy Note 3
