Following on from rumors of a tablet and the upcoming budget-Moto X dubbed DVX, Motorola is believed to be working on a phablet and another smartphone. The Xplay, said to have a 6.3-inch display, is accompanied by rumors of a new smartphone for Verizon's popular Droid range called the Droid Quantum.

The Droid Quantum will apparently be a follow-up to the Droid Ultra on Verizon, according to Android Community, with the initial leak coming via an apparently-reputable Weibo account. Considering the relative newness of the Droid Ultra, the Quantum should in theory form part of next year's Droid lineup, if it exists.

The Moto Xplay rumor is also fairly light in terms of detail, though the extra screen size will likely mean an upgrade in resolution to 1080p from the 1280x720 on the 4.7-inch Moto X. While Motorola has yet to directly confirm a phablet, CEO Dennis Woodside revealed in an earlier interview that the company sees "a set of products that are taking some of the design cues, as well as technologies, from the Moto X and extending them into other form factors." If true, the Moto Xplay could end up being launched in the first half of 2014.
