Samsung has issued a public apology to Chinese consumers, responding to a critical report that recently aired on China's state TV. The China Central Television program reportedly named seven devices, including the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 handsets, that are allegedly prone to crashing as many as 30 times a day due to malfunctioning memory chips and firmware problems.
"We sincerely apologize to our customers for the inconvenience, which resulted from management problems," the company said in a statement, as translated
The company further notes that it "welcomes" such scrutiny and promises to offer free repairs for devices that are affected by the issues, while customers who already have paid for their device to be fixed will receive reimbursement for the costs. Free replacement devices will also be provided for any device that has failed to function properly after a second repair attempt.
The Samsung statement follows similar public apologies from other foreign companies, including Apple
