Harman Kardon has announced a new set of desktop speakers, the Nova stereo system
. The new speakers are compatible with virtually any device, with an array of wired and wireless inputs that allow it to accompany Roku set-top boxes, standard HDTVs, Apple TV systems, and more. Harman Kardon packs these capabilities into a small, versatile form factor that can be placed on a desktop or in an entertainment system.
The Nova system packs 2.5-inch drivers and 1.25-inch tweeters, which Harman Kardon says will yield a richer listening experience. Along with that, the speakers have passive radiators with a turbine enclosure, which allows for extended bass response. They pack a frequency response of 70Hz to 20kHz, and Harman Kardon's DSP technology allows for improved soundstaging and voicing.
The speakers also have Bluetooth connectivity, allowing users to stream from a stereo, smartphone, or tablet. For users with devices that have NFC connectivity, the Nova system also has a quick-pairing feature, activated simply by touching the mobile device to the speakers.
The Nova desktop stereo system
retails for $300. The sound system is eligible for free shipping from Amazon, as well as from Hardan Karmon.
