Audioengine this week announced the release of its D3 Premium 24-bit digital-to-analog converter, an amplifier that plugs directly into a computer's USB port. The D3 sports both a USB connection and a headphone-out port, allowing it to bridge the gap between a computer or other device and a user's headphones. Audioengine says that the D3 streams bit-perfect native 24/96 HD audio, with users needing to install neither drivers nor software. It also allows users to directly control the volume of the output with their computer's own volume controls. The D3 24-bit USB amplifier is available from a number of retailers, with a price tag of $189.

Edifier introduces Luna Eclipse Bluetooth speakers

Edifier has announced its newest 2.0 Bluetooth speaker set – the Luna Eclipse. The new speakers pack 74 watts of power, and they can connect to any number of audio hosts using the 3.5mm auxiliary cable included with the set. With their Bluetooth connectivity, users can connect the Luna Eclipse to any Bluetooth-enabled device, such as smartphones, tablets, and computers.

The speakers also have touch-sensitive panels that control volume, power, and track changes. Each speaker has a 3/4" tweeter and a 3" full range speaker drive, as well as two 3" passive bass radiators. Edifier's new speakers are available for purchase at the company's site. They retail for $200.
