Microsoft has released an update
to its Bing app for iPad that contains a number of tweaks and improvements to the search app. The update, bringing Bing for iPad to version 2.0, introduces a cleaner, simpler user interface to match Apple's "flatter" iOS 7 aesthetic. It also includes the ability to save Bing's colorful daily images for use as a wallpaper on one's device.
In addition to those new features, version 2.0
includes the ability to save bookmarks and images and access them using SkyDrive. Users can also share their search results from the app directly to Facebook, Twitter, and other social services.
The update also includes more Bing Rewards options for users searches, allowing them to earn credits simply for using the search engine. Microsoft has tweaked the Maps aspect of the app so that it yields improved results. Also, the Bing logo and color palette have seen an update, and Microsoft has added a Gift Finder feature.
The new Bing for iPad
app is available as a free download in the iTunes App Store. The 19.8MB download requires an iPad running iOS 4.3 or later.
