Owners of the standard version of the Oppo N1 are able to download and install the CyanogenMod ROM for the device. The ROM, replacing the ColorOS version of Android offered with the device by default, has been customized to take advantage of some of the built-in hardware, reports Android Central. Support for the rotating camera and the O-Click Bluetooth remote control are included in the ROM, which can be downloaded from the Oppo Forums.

Samsung releases updated smart TV SDK, adds connected appliance controls

Samsung has released a new software development kit for its Smart TVs, allowing apps to communicate with other household appliances. The Smart TV SDK 5.0 compatible with lighting, air-conditioning systems, and refrigerators connected to a home network, according to a company blog post, with the kit also claimed to make app development easier by incorporating PNaCL technology, allowing apps to be developed for multiple smart TV models without worrying about compatibility. The beta of the SDK is available now, though the finished version will be made available from January 6th onwards.
