Just 11 days after revealing a 105-inch curved Ultra HD
television it will be showing at CES, Samsung has put a similar-sized television on sale. The 110-inch UHD television forms part of the same product family as the 85-inch S9
television it launched at the start of this year, with the flat 4K-resolution panel encased in its own freestanding metal frame.
Though Samsung does not go into detail about the television on its blog
, aside from the size and resolution, it should carry over most of the features from its smaller stablemate, such as upscaling from Full HD to Ultra HD. Samsung's own Precision Black Pro technology for a high contrast ratio is likely to be included, along with a three-way 2.2-channel audio setup, and expected smart TV functionality.
The first of the 110-inch televisions will be shipping in China and the Middle East at first, with other major countries in the next nine weeks. Samsung has declined to reveal a price for the television, but considering the 85-inch model sells for $40,000 in the United States a year after launch, the 110-inch version will be a very expensive prospect.
