Google has released its latest Chrome for iOS update, which includes several features previously unannounced. Security improvements and the addition of Google Translate are now live, as was previously reported, however the update has also introduced a new data-compression tool. Aiming to help reduce data usage while browsing, the data-compression feature can reduce browsing data usage by up to 50 percent.

Additionally, users of Chrome for iOS now have access to an enhanced New Tab page that offers simplified searching. Three buttons at the bottom of the "New Tab" screen allow users to quickly switch between their most-visited pages, bookmarks and open tabs from other devices. These latest features have made their debut on iOS, and will be introduced across all versions of Chrome in the future.

StarCraft II patch lets users modify Arcade mode, create new unites and structures

Blizzard has released a new patch for its game StarCraft II, offering new features and tweaks, as well as unlocking of a large portion of the game's content to players using the free StarCraft II Starter Edition. Patch v2.1 opens StarCraft II's Arcade mode and extensive library of user-created custom games, making all races accessible for all players. For those interested in creating their own units and structures with personal textures and animations, Blizzard has released its full suite of art tools.

A number of tutorials and documents have been released by Blizzard to explain how to modify different aspects of the game. Extension mods have been introduced in Patch v2.1 as well, which features a custom-game 'skin' that can be applied to standard multiplayer maps. Blizzard's Patch v2.1 for StarCraft II is free, and available for download from Battle.net.
