Today, Pioneer Electronics has introduced five new A/V receivers into its Home Electronics Division. The VSX-824 5.2-channel, VSX-1024 and VSX-1124 7.2-channel receivers join the line-up of Pioneer-branded home theater receivers, and the VSX-44 and VSX-80 7.2-channel receivers join the company's Elite branded receivers. All five support the recently-announced HDMI 2.0 specification.

Pioneer's two new Elite-branded receivers are Roku Ready-certified -- utilizing the receiver's built-in MHL Connection located at the rear of the Elite receivers. The VSX-80 offers 4k2k Ultra HD 60P video up-scaling, the ESS Sabre Audio DAC, and direct support for 96kHz 24-bit FLAC and WAV files. The receiver also supports other high-resolution music files including AIFF, WAV, FLAC, DSD (2.8 MHz), Apple Lossless, MP3, WMA and AAC, offering broad support for the most common high-resolution music formats.

The VSX-44 has 80W per channel with a frequency range of 20Hz through 20kHz. It has six HDMI inputs, and is Airplay-, DLNA-, and HTC Connect-certified. A front USB port allows for direct connections for iPods and other MP3 audio players.

The VSX-80 has 90W per channel with a frequency range of 20Hz through 20kHz. It has seven HDMI inputs, with two HDMI outputs. It offers the same wireless certifications as the VSX-44, and also sports a front USB port. The two new Pioneer Elite receivers will be available at the end of March, with suggested retail prices of $500 (VSX-44) and $700 (VSX-80).

Also revealed are the The VSX-824 5.2-channel, VSX-1024 7.2-channel, and VSX-1124 7.2-channel receivers. The VSX-824 is a five-channel device, with 80W per channel at a frequency range of 20Hz through 20kHz. It has six HDMI inputs, with a single HDMI output. The VSX-824 is similar, but is a seven-channel receiver.

Capping the range, the VSX-1124 pushes 90W per channel at 20Hz through 20kHz. It has seven HDMI inputs, and two outputs. The new Pioneer receivers will be also be available at the end of March, with suggested prices of $399 for the VSX-824, $499 for the VSX-1024, and $599 for the VSX-1124.
