Paypal is expanding the range of food-related payment options available in its apps in the United Kingdom and Australia. Already available in the United States, the Pay At Table and Order Ahead options in its iOS and Android apps are being enabled in the two countries, which allow users to pay for food at the table via the app itself, or to place orders for food for later pick-up from the location. Head of retail services for PayPal UK Rob Harper advised to TechCrunch the new features will be spreading to other European countries in the near future.

Pebble hits 400,000 smart watch sale milestone, estimated $60M in revenue

Pebble has sold a total of 400,000 smart watches in 2013, including the 85,000 sold in its crowdfunding campaign, the company has revealed. Fortune estimates that the company and its Kickstarter-funded smart watch has achieved $60 million in revenues for the year, with one investor confiding to the report he expects the revenues to double in 2014. It is also noted that employee numbers have jumped at the startup in a short space of time, moving from 45 in January to 70 employees at the time of writing, with ex-Director of Hardware Engineering and Manufacturing Law for Apple, Jeff Hyman, being a recent addition to the company's management.

Just in case anyone has forgotten, Paypal is owned by Ebay. If you love Ebay and think you should give that company more of your business then jump right in, I will however avoid anything PayPal related for as long as I live.

This "smart watch" craze makes no sense.
Why would I want to pay hundreds of dollars for the world's tiniest screen (barely any bigger than my finger) for something that does less than my iPod? What's the point of it?
Besides every watch I've worn has hurt my wrist, got its face scratched beyond recognition, or some other problem. If I need the time, I've got clocks in my mind, or around me at work or on my iPod.
This one time, at Boot Camp, I stuck a flute up my PC.
