After publishing its financial results, Sprint has revealed it is providing subscribers of its Framily plan free music streaming through Spotify, as well as launching an exclusive version of the HTC One M8. In a similar manner to how AT&T offers its customers access to Beats Music, the carrier will be offering all of its customers a free six-month trial of Spotify Premium.

From May 2nd, all users on a Framily plan will gain the six-month free period, with all other customers having a three-month trial. At the end of the trial, Framily members in a group of between one and five members can continue their subscription at $7.99 per month, discounted further to $4.99 for groups of six to ten people, with the standard $9.99 subscription fee being charged after 18 months. Non-Framily customers will receive the $9.99 fee without a discount.

The Spotify subscription offer arrives as part of a wider music ecosystem called Sprint Sound Sessions. Aside from Spotify, the carrier is also offering ringtone and track purchases through its Sprint Music Plus store, its Music Live portal will provide music news, new music, and other services, and the NextRadip app will allow for customers to listen to local FM broadcasts.

At the same time, Sprint is preparing a special edition version of the HTC One M8 for sale. The Harman Kardon edition will be supplied with a pair of Harman Kardon AE-S headphones worth $149, will ship with Harman's Clari-Fi onboard for filtering compressed music to give a richer sound, and the ability to play back lossless FLAC audio. Going on sale from May 2nd and appearing in stores on May 9th, the HTC One M8 Harman Kardon edition is being sold for $0 up-front and 24 monthly payments of $28.34.
