An upgraded version of the Samsung Galaxy S5 has allegedly been photographed. Believed to be called the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime, the smartphone is thought to be in testing ahead of a launch sometime next month, with various internal upgrades accompanied by a marginally larger 5.2-inch display with a resolution of 1440x2560, the same resolution as the upcoming LG G3.

If genuine, the images from Phone Arena show a smartphone that stays close to the original design of the Galaxy S5. While it retains the same pitted texture on the back cover, it appears the distance between the heart-rate monitor and the camera has been minimized, while the speaker also appears to have been moved from the back to the base, possibly to improve audio quality. Apart from the screen size, the front appears to have barely changed at all.

The Galaxy S5 Prime is believed to have a quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor with an Adreno 420 GPU and 3GB of RAM, an upgrade from the quad-core Snapdragon 801, 2GB of RAM, and Adreno 330 GPU used in the original. Echoing pre-S5 launch rumors of an alternative-specification device, the Prime is thought to use an aluminum body.
