Well my edge arrived today.
Got a good price on it so here is a short review for anyone out there in the market for a pda.
Its a beautiful little device! When I say little im not kidding. Ive only really seen the sony's to compare it with, and i thought they were small.
This thing has all metal casing, very thin and very petite. Fits right in the palm of your hand or shirt pocket. I guess thats the whole point!
Very snappy machine. I was surprised at how quickly it can open and scroll through a word document.
Its a greyscale display - 16 shades but high definition and high quality. Also a pretty darn good size. A fair bit bigger than the sony t-415 which I would consider in the same class.
Despite not being officially supported by palm desktop 4 for mac osx, it works without a hitch. Fast synching too.
Two issues with it - one the piggyback add on module. Small factor in this case comes at a price because you have to plug in an attachment to use the springboard slot for add on cards. Also it doesnt have upgradeable flash rom, so you need to buy an additional flash card to upgrade the os, should you need to. This isnt a problem though because the included os has all the features of palm os 4.1, and i believe palm os 5 will need a faster cpu anyway.
Spec wise, this thing is essentially the same as a palm m500 (or m505 without colour), but much cheaper.
Highly recommended. Im very happy with it. Probably the best non-colour pda on the market.
9/10. (the palm m500 and sony t415 are very similar, each with its own pros and cons, but this model is the best value).

Though I don't own one, I have plenty of experience with the Edge. It's a good, small Palm, all-around. All Palms are so functionally similar that you basically know what to expect.
My only gripe is that the cover pops off a bit too easily for my tastes. Perhaps it's a result of wear?

Yeah It must be.
Mine is new, and its quite a firm connection to the cover.
Perhaps removing and reattaching the cover a lot over a long period of time would do that.
You could always use the stopper piece intead of the cover and get a leather or metal case for it...

Go to www.dealmac.com and search for Visor Edge. They list refurbed Edges at CompUSA for $90. You might also want to check eBay.
