Just got my new DLink bluetooth adapter and it does not do a thing! A green LED lights up but I cannot discover either my T68i or my Palm.

Communications between phone and Palm work fine, but the Powerbook can't seem to connect to anything at all over bluetooth.

The second LED on the DLink does not light up... does this mean anything?

HELP!!!

Thanks.

Sorry to ask a set of obvious questions.

1) Did you download the bluetooth software ?
2) Have you established a bluetooth association pair ?

Let me know.

Ben.

Indeed... OS X 10.1.5, Bluetooth Preview Release 2, etc. Is there anything else to install other than the Apple BT PR 2?

Once in the Bluetooth system settings panel, I do a search for devices and it finds nothing, not my T68i, not my Palm.

There is a bluetooth PR 2.1 somewhere - did you see that ?
Err, blank. I'll have another play when I get home. Where did you get your T68i ? Is it new, or "reconditioned"

Did you load up the bluetooth drivers onto the Palm , and reset the palm ?

Cheers,
Ben.

The phone and Palm work fine... they're able to pair with each other and communicate flawlessly. It's the Powerbook that cannot talk to (or see, or pair with) anyone.

I don't know how to get debugging info out of bluetooth....
Perhaps placing a question in apples support groups.

It sounds like neither your phone nor your palm are set to be 'discoverable.' The 68i has a menu under the bluetooth settings that says something like "Make discoverable for three minutes.."

It appears that the DLink device is, after all, inoperable. DLink tech support suggested (in an otherwise rather uninformative email reply) that I return the device for replacement.

As per the message above, all devices were indeed "discoverable" at the time the tests were run... frustrating!!!

Thanks for the input.
