Spoke to the Apple store here in Japan and they reckon that they are shipping on the 21st.
Funny that iPod's with the new remotes, etc. have already shipped...

I just received this email from Apple:
"We appreciate your recent Apple Store order #######. Due to an unexpected
supply delay, we are unable to ship your M8751G/A, IPOD REMOTE AND
EARPHONES-GEN by the date you were originally quoted. Our goal is to ship
your order within the next 22 business days."
I guess we will have to wait...they must be packing all the remotes eith the new iPods first.

Over here in Tokyo, and... still not shipping.
I was really hoping that Apple would implement a small LCD screen on the remote displaying the song file playing, much like Sony MD Walkman remotes. But then I reconsidered and realized that I can do without it. I already know the songs on my iPod! Would more than likely add to battery drain just as well. All in all, I'm really looking forward to the remote.

why do some receive an email and some not, does that mean they will be shipped in europe this week?
a display would have been nice, but it would add to the cost...

Hmm... I'm afraid you're right.  I just got a message from Apple Japan stating that due to shortages, my order won't ship until mid-September... Not a happy camper over here. No where did it state I could get a refund, or else I would look for them on Saturday at retailers when I go and pick up a copy of Jag! 
Oh well, be happy if anyone here would comment on their remote when it arrives.

I Just traded in my old damaged ipod in for a new one today, (same original 5 gig version) and asked if they got any remotes in yet and the answer was no.
I was bummed.
