I have a Palm Vx and the only thing I need OS 9 for is for syncing avangto. Does anyone know if they even plan on coming out for an OS X conduit or if there has been any news recently? As a side question does anyone have any news on isync and which palms it will support? Thanks.

What I have heard is not good. Someone on one of the OSX forums
claims that they have a friend who was Avantgo's only mac developer
and that they aren't working there anymore. So that would mean
no-one is working on it. :-(

Does "you're hosed" count as news?

Here is their official word about it:
http://avantgo.com/support/mobile_su...html#macpalm40

I've found that I don't miss AvantGo very much anymore, now that I have a cell phone that I can connect to my Palm and surf wirelessly. If this is an option for you, you might find that it is better than AvantGo ever was.

Would you mind telling me what kind of phone you use? Service and/or model #? Also, what PDA do you use? I'm not sure if a palm vx has the ability to sync w/ a wireless phone.

It is a Motorola StarTAC ST7868 connected to a Palm m100 via a cable I bought from www.thesupplynet.com. (This phone also has WAP support.)

My service provider is Verizon Wireless, whose cellular service has a built-in ISP at no extra charge. Data calls subtract from your minutes just like other calls, but other than that there are no additional costs or limitations on data use. With the Mobile Internet Kit, you can use PQA's, and you won't be charged per kilobyte like with Palm.net.

Cables from TheSupplyNet usually come with really good documentation about how to set up a Palm for use with Verizon or Sprint PCS, and others. For other providers, you may need to use your own existing dial-up ISP.
