Yay, great. Yes; the new iPod is a ton better than the old top of the line 10GB iPod (remote, 10GB more, touch sensitivity, etc.), but it still has the same problems with my MP3 collection.

Yes, they are VBR - Yes, they were not encoded with iTunes - and Yes, they are still "clipped" (last 5-10 seconds are skipped). Or, in some instances, iPod miscalculates the song length by 15 minutes or so - soI get to hear the WHOLE song. How novel!

Why doesn't Apple make an iPod that actually plays VBR MP3's... this thing is a piece of junk. I'm so pissed I though 1.2 would change that. $500 more out the drain to listen to "clipped" music.

Au contraire... I did some light reading here and at http://www.ipodlounge.com/ and saw nothing that would make me think this would still occur. Yeah, looking back maybe I shouldn't have jumped the gun and expected them to update VBR playback instead of adding great new "Extras". My bad.

Is so one on earth experiencing what I am? My files play in iTunes, Audion, and MP3 Rage... but they are all pretty much "clipped" on iPods. What's up?
