Hi
I just received my 10 GB iPod and my remote doesn't seem to be working. I have quadruple checked the security of the remote into the headphone jack and my headphones into the remote. Still no luck. Is anyone else having this problem? Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks

I thought I was having problems with the remote on my 20 gig iPod. Turns out, I just didn't have the remote pushed in all the way. Make sure it REALLY is pushed into the iPod headphone jack, you should hear a click.

If that doesn't slove your problem, give Apple a call and get a replacement.

You have to push it in really hard - I thought the same thing, mine started working once you really give it the business...

You don't need brute force, finesse it into place while turning the remote's plug into the jack- the plug must fit into several notches and if they're not lined up, it won't go no matter how hard you push it. You will hear a click. And if the two hold devices are set to green (or not red) you will be using your remote. Cool. This should allow you all to keep your iPods in your own mitts, not in the mail back and forth to Apple.

Did I mention that I love my iPod. I backed up all my stuff before upgrading to 10.2, didn't have to wait hours while I burned CDs, 10 minutes and everything was backed up. Tres Cool (that's French for tres cool- it's like they have a different word for everything).
