I'm looking for a printer and scanner. I'll be getting OS X 10.2 at the same time so they have to be OS X native, not Classic, and a transparency lid would be good on the scanner. The inkjet has to be good photo quality and pretty quick printing, and both have to be quiet. I've had a look around and come up with these possibilities:
Scanners
hp Scanjet 3570c
Epson 1250 Photo
Canon 1250U
Printers
hp Photosmart 7150
hp Deskjet 990c M
Epson C80
Epson Photo 810
Canon S750
Canon 820
Or any other suggestions, are there any combination printer/scanners that are good enough (hp PSC 750)? Is it better to get the same brand of printer and scanner together?

Been looking more into the combo printer scanners, especially the hp PSC950 and the Lexmark x83. Anyone running either of these in 10.2?

never too fond of combo thingys...
With the printer, you want fast photo printing or fast general printing? if it's just fast photo, the Canon 820 is probably a better choice, but overall, the HP990 is probably better.
I've also always liked Epson scanners...they seem to always perform better than other ones in reviews etc... (kinda like HP's almost always better in terms of general printing)

G4/450, T-bird 1.05GHz, iBook 500, iBook 233...4 different machines, 4 different OSes...(9, 2k, X.1, YDL2.2 respectively) PiA to maintain...

Give a good serious look at the new Deskjet 5550 from HP. Its fast and can produce 4800 X 1200 resolution on photo paper. And best of all its compatible with 10.2. As far as scanners go I would recommend you wait about 3 to 4 weeks and see who has their drivers ready.
