Here is some information I've compiled about Apple Displays:

Hope this helps in deciding which display to purchase with your new DP power mac. The diagonal measure doesn't really tell everything about the "size" of the display, the 17 studio and 17 imac's differences are apparent in this comparison. I had to assume that the pixels are square (which they should be) and the Apple published screen measures are exact.

Also, here is a link to the excel spreadsheet used in the chart if you want to add other displays for comparison:

displaychart.xls

Just add the info for size (diag), pix across, and pix down. Then copy and paste the formulas to the new row.

Don't forget the Dell 15" UXGA screens for their laptops, which will give you 133dpi of resolution

It's 1280x1024, not 1290x1024.

Here's a question - is there a way to put JUST THE MONITOR to sleep, without effecting the connected G4? And without waiting for the Energy saving settings to do it for you (which I know are configurable... but I think you know what i mean).

The screen really lights up the adjacent room, I'd like to just shut it off while leaving my internet going... Apple's documentation on this has the usual breadth.
