I have just installed Palm desktop 4 on 10.2 and have experienced the following problem when trying to sync with my Handspring Edge:
- I can get a connection but after a short while I get the message "Lost the connection with the handheld device". It seems to happen when trying to sync relatively large files (datebook, adressbook, password file etc.). I have tried to plug the cradle directly to the computer, so that there should be no problems getting the signal through other devices, but it made no difference.

Any ideas on how to avoid that?

TIA,
Peter

p.s. I have only sync'ed in OS 9 before so I don't know if this is a Jaguar or a generel OS X issue.

I have had this problem only when attaching the craddle to the USB-Hub of my Cinemadisplay. Connecting the craddle directly to the Ti800 DVI USB worked perfectly with my Palm m105.

Strange: I tried to change it to another usb port on the computer, and then it worked! So everything is fine now - and MUCH speedier sync than on OS 9! :-)

Thanks for the help!

I'm not using Palm 4 with Jaguar but if I have problems hot syncing using Classic I find that I have success if I quit my other apps. When I only run hot sync I get a connection that lasts with larger files.

PGS, how do you hot sync under Classic? Which versions of OSX, OS9 and palm desktop you are using? Do you have palm desktop(s) on both OSX and OS9?

I tried 10.1.5 / 9.2.2 / 2.6.3(?) and cannot hot sync in Classic. Thanks
