I'm ordering my dual 867 from the apple uk store tomorrow and will be matching it with a 19" CRT of some sort. Problem is I don't know which to pick up.

I've been looking at the Formac 19/900 and the Mitsubishi DiamondPro line which both seem really good and at a reasonable price in the UK.

Any recommendations are welcomed folks. Oh and don't recommend LCDs at all - I'm just not into them

Try looking at http://www.epinions.com/cmhd-Monitors-All
You'll find lots of reviews about the monitors you're wondering about. The NEC-Mitsubishi Diamontron certainly gets rave reviews.

Bah! Well I guess then I won't recommend you just get an apple 17" Display which will have the same desk space ;-)

I would suggest a 19" Samsung CRT or a Mitsubishi (or Mitsubishi-based) display... can't go wrong with those.

By the way, isn't this thread be more appropriate for the "Peripherals" forum?

I say get a Mitsubishi. Their tubes are fantastic, and they put in good electronics to match. And they're noticeably cheaper than a similar Sony.

The current 19" models are the Diamond Pro 920 and 930SB, but if you find an older one on clearance (such as the venerable 900U, which I have had for 3 years, and is still just as wonderful as when I got it).

Note that the LaCie Electron CRT displays are just relabeled Diamond Pros.

Sounds good, I went with the current Diamond Pro model, ordered from Macwarehouse UK's site. Decided to order my Dual 867 from there too while I was at it

New system early next week, I can't wait!
