Hello...

I recently purchased an Epson Stylus C80 and have yet to take it out of the box. On Monday, Epson released a new printer to replace the C80. It is called the C82, and boasts several improvements.

Does anyone know when this printer will enter sales channels? If it is later than a week and a half or so, I'll keep the C80. Otherwise, I want the new printer! Any information anyone can offer will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Only improvement I see is increased horizontal rez for printing of text, which is a costly exercise on an inkjet in any case. The C80 already uses the DuraBrite pigment inks. They should be available from most stores by the end of next week. If it doesn't cost you anything you may as well return the C80 and get the C82. I have a C80 and it is an excellent photo printer, if a little slow compared to a Canon S900.

actually the S900 is about 37 for a 4X6

and the C80 is only 21 for a 4X6.

But the cannon is a true photo printer with more color inks, where the epson is just a regular printer.

I GOT WASTED WITH PHIL SHERRY!!!

An 8*10 at 1440 on Epson Glossy Photo (high speed off) takes plenty of time. I haven't timed it but I reckon about 5 mins+. Of course the C80 is in a lower price bracket to the S900 as well.
