I've just installed Palm 4.0 on 10.2 attached my Palm USB Serial Adapter in, dropped my Palm IIIe into its cradle hit HotSync and.....nothing!

I've tried different USB ports, unplugging, restarting and all the usual tricks but to no avail. Nothing happens at all. System profiler reports that the USB Serial adapter is present and HotSync has Palm USBConnect selected.

I don't understand! Does anyone have any ideas?

Incidentally will the forthcoming iSync work with USB/Serial Connections or is it Bluetooth only?

Cheers

My fix for sync problems with Mac X.2

Here are the problems I had after installing X.2. (Transport error, unable to sync after X.2 install, and unable to locate Palm Application in X.2, Unable to uninstall/install Palm Dekstop 4.0)

Called Palm support and here is what they told me:

Boot into 9.2, start Sherlock, search your HD for "Palm", Delete everything that Sherlock finds with the "Palm" search, boot back to X.2 and re install Palm Desktop.
After doing this I was able to sync. I did have to re install some of my conduits (ie Pocket Quicken). Also I am not use a Keyspan adapter. Hope this helps.

Hi,

I haven't had any problems with hotsyncing on Ti800/DVI and OS 10.2:

• Installed Palm Desktop 4
• Activated Hotsync in the Hotsync-Manager
• Connected the Palm USB Connect-Kit to USB
• Inserted Palm
• Click Hotsyncbutton

There we go.

But Hotsync will not complete when attaching the USB-Connect to an USB-Hub (i.e. Cinemadisplay). It will loose connection.

Regards
