Hey there...

I'm looking at getting a portable/lightweight firewire drive for my powerbook. The idea is to be able to copy mp3's onto it and be able to carry it around with me.

Thing is - it needs to be smallish (fits into my laptop bag), light (very very important).

I don't care if the hard drive is included or if I buy one - just as long as I can get over 60gig or so storage, I'll be happy....

Something not TOO expensive would be nice too

Thankyou

- Ryan

lol 60 gig laptop drives are still high end technology, so it's still expensive as hell...if you think a 20GB iPod is out of the question, don't even look at 60 gb external drives...

when the 5GB iPod first came out, those specific 5GB drives alone were selling at $400 or so...everyone complains 'bout the price, but if you know the market, it was a pretty good deal.
G4/450, T-bird 1.05GHz, iBook 500, iBook 233...4 different machines, 4 different OSes...(9, 2k, X.1, YDL2.2 respectively) PiA to maintain...

what do you mean that you don't care if a hard drive comes with it? isn't that a necessary part of a hard drive? and how small are you looking? would a little firefly drive do the trick? otherwise, lacie makes a nice little drive... as well as another company, the one that used to make those little red and yellow firewire drives... anybody know what I'm talking about? V something...

good luck!
