My apple pro mouse will randomly jult to a completely different place on the screen sometimes......

this happened in OS 9 and OS X.......


what could possibly be wrong?


*The mouse is not being lift off the surface.....! Can it be because of the surface? it's on a newspaper ad until I find a cool looking pad/transparent sheet*

yup.

any "mousing surface" with an image on it will screw around with the optics on the mouse. i have a mostly orange mousepad i use that has a little bit of text on it and it makes it jumpy occasionally. a plain sheet of white paper will do the job just fine.

right after my post, i tried w/out the sheet, and it works perfect now directly on the table
