I have a new Dual 1 GHz G4 connected to a 22" Apple Cinema Display and the noise of the new machine is driving me nuts. Therefore I would like to place the G4 a little further away from my workplace.

Is it possible to extend the ADC cable? Are there any commercially available cords? Is it technically possible? What is the maximum distance? Has anyone done it?

Thanks for any help, Chris.

Well... I searched for myself on google:

Dr. Bott:
http://www.drbottkg.com/prod/ADCExtension.html

Has anybody used it? It seems that they don't suggest to daisy chain it... So it looks like the maximum additional length is 3 m.

"ADC Extension by Dr. Bott offers an extra 3 m (10 ft.), extending the range of the display to a total of ca. 4.5 m (15 ft.). A passive extension cable cannot go further than that as both the digital video signals and the USB signals that are also carried in the ADC cable will not permit so."

sound like you would need a divice that would bump up the signal in order to get it pst 15 feet, but hey my dorm is only 15 feet long.

I GOT WASTED WITH PHIL SHERRY!!!
