I have an older 10GB iPod with system 1.1 and when i ran the 1.2 software updater the iPod was greyed out so i couldnt update it. I decided to erase the ipod and then try the update but the update still didnt work. Now I cant even start the iPod because it doesnt even have software 1.1 on it anymore. Please Help

thanks

I updated my year-old 5GB to 1.2, but because it halved my battery life, just went back to 1.1.

Now that i know it can be updated how do I do it? I currently have no software on the iPod after the erase so where can I find software 1.0 or 1.1 or even a full version of 1.2? Apple only lists the 1.2 software update but it wont work on my now erased iPod (my iPod is greyed out in the volume selection screen).

The directions are no where near clear on what to do with the installer. I figured out that the 1.2 software updater is an installer installer so I had to first install the 1.2 installer on my G4 and then run the installer for the iPod. Dumb Dumb Dumb.
