Ok. Obviously, I WANT ONE. I can afford one in a month (birthday gift to self), but it's a lot of money to lay down for an Mp3 player. I can only afford the 5 gig model, I know I'll use it for data files, to and from computers, work, etc. But is it really that good of a product? I have a 60 gig FW HD (Lacie) but it's big, has an external PS, and obviously won't play music as well as the iPod. Please convince me! Otherwise I'll keep saving my dough for a used TiBook in 4 months...
Cheers,

You will not regret your purchase. I paid $690 including taxes for my old 5GB one and I still love it. I tend to be a bit of a technophile so I have bought a lot of "gadgets" before but definitely the iPod is the best product I have bought. Period.

It will change your lifestyle...

Cheers.
Have a nice day!

ABSOLUTELY. I just shelled out \62,000 for mine here in Tokyo this weekend (after much deliberation) and it's everything I hoped it would be. Besides living my outdoor life to a never-ending soundtrack of choice (I still can't get over the fact I have my ENTIRE collection in this little white box!) I have also backed up my entire Home directory, and am keeping it up to date using 'Synchronize! X Plus' which only cost $30.

It's the envy of all my mates, and I love it! Trust me - it's worth it! I had a Nike PSA Play (96MB) before, and I just don't know how I coped. My girlfriend carries around a discman and half a dozen CDs. I don't know how she copes.

Get it - you won't regret it.

Thanks! I am a bit of a gadget junkie too, the damn is just soooo cool. And I know I'll use the hell out of it!
Cheers,
