Has anyone received his/her optional, iPod remote? I ordered mine a long time ago, when it was announced, and still have not received it. Apple store still says that it is being assembled...who is assembling mine? Steve Jobs himself on his free time?
Seriously, anyone received an extra iPod remote yet?

My guess is that they're shipping all the remotes out in order to fill orders for the 10/20gig iPods. Once the things aren't on back order at some places, the remotes should come.

Here's a snippet from an email I received from Apple on Aug 28th.

We need your response to continue processing your order.

Due to an unexpected supply delay, we are unable to ship your M8751G/A, IPOD REMOTE AND EARPHONES-GEN by the last date you were quoted. Our current intention is to ship your order within the next 25 business days.

If you do not consent to this revised shipping date, we are required by federal law to cancel your order and issue a prompt refund, and we will do so. If you do consent to the revised shipping date, we will notify you if we encounter any unanticipated delays in meeting our revised estimate.

I'll let the order die, and will stop by our new local Apple Store and see if they're there.

apple is still listing a 7-10 day waiting period so I will wait.
