On the PC side of things there are probably about 10 different Geforce 4 video cards. The highest one being a Geforce4 Ti 4600. I've looked everywhere on info on the Geforce4 Ti sold through the Apple Store and nothing states what the Apple Geforce 4 is comparable to (is it a 4200, 4400, 4600??).
Also, has anyone heard what cool video cards are on the way to the Mac? I bought a dual 867 G4 with the Geforce4MX and really want to upgrade it down the road. I can't see spending $399 on a Geforce4 Ti not knowing how it compares to its PC cousins and the fact its been out for quite some time.

Here's an exerpt from the GF4Ti card kit that Apple sells:
The GeForce4 specs are stunning. The LightSpeed II memory architecture uses 128MB of fast DDR RAM more efficiently than ever allowing it to achieve impressive statistics. It delivers a theoretical memory throughput of 10.56 gigabytes/sec, which can deliver over 87 million triangles and over 4.9 billion textured pixels (texels) per second. Using the latest 13 micron manufacturing process it delivers 63 million transistors and can deliver over 1.23 trillion operations/sec. For serious gamers and customer using high-end 3D applications there is simply no better graphics solution available for a personal computer.
Now here are the specs of GF4Ti PC version from Nvidia's website:
Vertices per Second: 136 Million
Fill Rate: 4.8 Billion AA Samples/Sec.
Operations per Second: 1.23 Trillion
Memory Bandwidth: 10.4GB/Sec.
Maximum Memory: 128MB
Notice the similarities in specs between the two descriptions? It's safe to say that the Mac GF4Ti is the GF4Ti 4600.

The Radeon 9700 (R300) is in short supply...and who knows when the Mac version will fully hit the channels...then again, the GeForce 5 (NV30) is in the same boat...it'll have limited avilibility by Christmas and fully flood the channel early next year...both of these 2 graphic cards are going to be significantly faster than the GeForce 4 Ti 4600...
