Belkin USB Serial Adapter

Should I be having any difficulty getting all thes to work together?

I get a 'select port' in the chooser with the option of printer port or modem port, but I shouldn't be getting this should I? I think my driver must be too old. I've just downloaded the latest driver for the printer but have yet to try it out.

I just want to be aware of compatibilty issues, or tips I should follow to get the printer working. Yes I know I could get a USB printer for the same price as a Belkin adaptor but this is for a client who has a 2 year supply of ink etc, so this is the route I have to follow... It's a bit difficult to turn down this favour so hope someone can offer a little encouragement.

Reciprocation and thanks available!
