OK - one for the optical drive experts! (which I am not)

A while ago I removed the CD reader from my G4 tower and replaced it with a nice & fast CD burner (lite-on LTR-32125W).

Under 10.1.x it did not work with iTunes but did work with Disc Copy & the finder.

Since I upgraded to Jaguar the CD drive is no longer supported (almost the only liteon that isn't) and it's basically a CD reader again Grrrr!

The only way forward I can see is to Over-clock the drive so that it 'becomes' an LTR-48125W

So - Should I risk it?

when I up graded my burner I check over at xlr8yourmac.com and their FAQ about CD ROM drives also add your complaint to their data base of CDRWs and they will gladly help you. here the had a Patch that I installed and it gave me full suport in a drive that would only read Cds.

Very handy and I can't thank Mike enough you the man
