Hi,

is it possible to record audio such as dialogue via a microphone connected to an ipod (even if it means using an external audio firewire interface) onto the ipod's HD? I'd like to use the ipod to record dialogue via an external mic and then transfer it onto a MiniDv video.

you can plug a lot of things in to an ipod but will they work is another question, and most often the answer is nope, there are no firewire, cameras, audio inputs, on the ipod.

There is no software, and I don't know but am guessing no hardware to suport audio in on the ipod, would be nice, but I love mine just the way it is.

If you want to do stuff like this, you might want to try a Rio 800.
