Hi everyone,
I recently got one of these babies off of ebay for a bit less than $50! Anyway, the iPhoto page certainly doesn't have it and it doesn't use removeable media. Is there any way I can get it to work? I don't necessarily have to have iPhoto recognize it. I can deal with manually copying pictures over. Any ideas? Are there any iPhoto update files? I know over at www.xlr8yourmac.com people are posting iTunes updates all the time that let you use 3rd party CD burners with iTunes. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks a bunch.
Gabe

It's TINY! I know it's only 640x480 and is pretty stinky otherwise, but it was really cheap and small. It's perfect for me. I'm a lowly college student and I just wanted a camera. So, I'm assuming you don't know how to get it to work?

under ASP what does it list it as? the serial # AND id #, i rember a hack that if you entered that into a file somewere you could gain suport for the camera, sorry I don't know the exact path but at least you are a little closer.
BTW seems nice for the price IE disposable digital camera

Hey,
Thanks so much! I don't have the camera yet, but it's coming in a few days. Do you have any idea where I could find the info about where to make that file? Thanks again,
Gabe

Also there might be a possiblity when you plug it in it will show up as a USB HD and you can manually pull the pics off.

Hey,
I really hope that it shows up as a Hard Drive. I'm using 10.2 so I don't know. I ransacked the xlr8yourmac site and I couldn't find anything. I even tried googling the xlr8yourmac site. Still no luck Anyone else want to try their hand at finding it? I was thinking about emailing the guy (I think his name is Mike) but last time I emailed him about something he yelled at me. Should I risk it again?

i bought that camera from fry's but ended up returning it due to the disappointing picture quality. BTW, the camera does not show up as a mass storage device under windows xp and i seriously doubt that a mac would see it as an 8 mb hard drive (I use usb memory "keys" and they do show up on my mac as drives, as well as on my xp machines w/o the need for drivers but this little camera was not like my usb storage devices.). the software the manufacturer provides is the only way to get the pics off the camera and frankly the software is pretty lame. If you manage to get results that are on par with what the manufacturer claims then please post them. techtv actually gave this thing a decent mention so i thought i'd try it but my pics were all pretty blurry and dark.
Glancing at the sunday circulars i noticed that 1 megapixel cameraas are going for 150-200 bucks. this is a diff in price compared to the 50 bucks you paid but i think that the diff in quality is substantial.

Hi all,
I finally got the camera, and so far, no luck under 10.2.1. I have both the IDs from the Apple System profiler, but I can't find the iPhoto hack... Any advice?
Thanks,
Gabe
ps You just have to make sure you hold the camera REALLY STILL when you're taking a picture and it looks fine.

Hey,
You asked me to post a picture when I got it (imported from my friend's PC, **shudder**) and here it is:
PICTURE
The little "IMAGE" button wouldn't work so I had to post it as a link. Sorry.
The PEopel at ioxperts.com said that they might work on a driver for it...
