I'd love a flat panel but are the costs are out of the budget since I broke the piggy bank for a new dual gig PowerMac. I'd like something along the specs Hitachi CM721F 19 inch CRT .20hor 1600X1200@75Hz. I mainly do web & multimedia development and I am in front of the monitor 8-12hrs a day.

Are there newer CRTs that take up less deskspace than older monitors?

the only thing is the prices havn't been droped, you can find that nice 19 in View sonic for around 256 at buy.com (free shiping)
