So, I added a few cd's to my collection on iTunes 3. Then I synced my 10gb iPod. (so far so good) But, when I went to go and search for an album there are like 5 albums that keep repeating as I scroll down the list.

Don't make fun of my music selection or anything but what I see is:

Baby one more time
All mixed up
And all that could have been
Aenima
And all that could have been
Around the fur
Austin Powers in Goldmember
Aenima
Around the fur
Aenima
Around the fur
Austin Powers in Goldmember
Aenima
Baby one more time
Aenima
Babyone more time
Aenima
Baby one more time
And all that could have been
All mixed up
(then the rest of my collection)

What's equally as annoying is that the songs on these albums are all out of order. It ticks me off cause I am somewhat of a neat freak. So, I am asking for any input at all. I suppose I could always make a playlist for each album, but that would be really annoying. Please help me!

Thanks

First, for the songs being "out of order," do you mean alphabetically? The iPod will sort songs in an album by the Track #'s listed in the ID3 tags. Removing the Track #'s should get them to sort alphabetically.

As for the albums, iTunes sometimes will "duplicate" an album if you just add an extra space in the name. Perhaps the ones that are repeating are entered as, say, "Album" and "Album " and so on.

I have one of the original 5 gig pods and I have the same exact problem with my album lists. Some albums just repeat periodically through the list. I have checked to make sure that I do not have blank spaces or other mistypings. The album just repeats for no reason that I can think of...

Minor problem though.

Minor problem....maybe....yet extremely annoying for us obsessive-compulsive types

Oh well, I guess I will just make a playlist for every album, that way I never have to look in the album menu again...of course that would make finding any one playlist a more intensive process. Or I could just play Britney Spears all the time

I agree with supaCoolX it'll be to do with your tags.

The Album name in each individual track may be slightly different? The quick fix is to select all the tracks from an album (in iTunes) and Apple-I then set the Album name - this way they'll all be the same.

You could also perhaps wipe the iPod and re-sync from scratch, that might sort it too.

Definitely the tags. Check for those extra spaces... Especially at the end of a title. Oftentimes, when importing stuff and using the CDDB database to get titles, this happens.
