Okay, here is the conundrum.

There is an 8100 PM with 2 cards installed. The first card is a 3XUSB1 card and the second card is a USB and FW combo card. After a clean install OS9.2.2 (after being assured that the drivers were in the hands of the 8100 owner), the cards are no longer supported and now the 8100 owner does not have the drivers and has no clue to the manufacturer of the cards. (the only identifications I can see are that some of the chips are from Texas Instruments.

Can any one tell me if there are generic drivers for these cards or do I need to download every manufacture of USB and FW cards drivers to get them to work? Open to suggestions here. Or should the cards just work without drivers?

Argh, never believe what some one tells you!

do the cards have an FCC part/serial number? if so, you can go to the FCC's website and lookup the manufacturer.

additionally, you might hunt around on the web for usb and usb/firewire combo cards and their photos, which might point you in the direction of a manufacturer, distributor, or driver.
