Whats the best & fastest way to detect dead pixel(s) on a LCD screen? Set up a white screen or black screen?

I'm going to pick up my new 17 inch iMac soon. But I will open it & check the screen before I leave the store to check for dead pixel(s). I refuse to take a defect product for which I've paid a lot of money for it!

Jay
Take care!

There are two types of problem pixels--dead pixels and stuck pixels. The easiest way to detect stuck pixels is to check for them with a black screen. For dead pixels, I believe the white screen will be the simplest way. I only have experience with Powerbook screens, but I've found that most stuck pixels can be restored, at least temporarily, by gently "massaging" them.
