I plug it in to my IMac, it won't mount & update, BUT it gives me the check mark, saying it's OK to disconnect. What the...? Help! Tried resetting, but that doesn't do anything.

I had a problem with my iPod refusing to play things and not mounting. It turned out that the HDD drive was faulty
