The keyboard that came with my G4 has finally started to die (the command key does not always work). I have never been entirely happy with the size and feel of it anyway.

I am looking for any opinions on the replacement options that are out there for USB keyboards.

TIA

I just couldn't get used to the mushy keyboard that came with my flat panel iMac, the Pro Keyboard.

So i bought the iMate adapter (ADB <> USB) made by Griffen Technology and connected my Good ole Extended II keyboard (by Apple) and it's great. Best Apple keyboard ever!

Ok, the grey like color of the keyboard contrasts a bit with the white iMac...
Take care!

I recently faced the same dilemma.

My criteria was that it had to be black, it had to be PC and Mac compatible. I want to buy a USB KVM soon so I can switch between systems more easily.

I went for the IBM Preferred Keyboard http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/product.php?view=3008
It has a neat low feel, and a built in 2 port USB hub which is also very handy.

IBM Preferred Keyboard is a fine keyboard, however you do need to remap some of the keys.

Actually I have not found an ideal way of doing this does anyone know of any good keymap editors?

Funny you guys mention this. While I like the look of my Pro keyboard, the feel is just too mushy. Sometimes I really have to think whether or not I'm hitting the keys correctly. So I'm open to suggestions as well. I have two logitech keyboards on my pcs and they have a decent feel. I suppose nothing will match the look of the pro but I'd say that typing performance and feel is more important than looks. That being said, what can I do about the fact that the Pro keyboard has the eject button on it to remove cds from my G4 tower? Is there a way to remap this with a third party keyboard? How are you supposed to open the cd tray if you don't have an eject button?

TIA
Josh
