Seeing as the iPod's earphones have magnets in them, can I keep both plugs together or do I risk damage? Also, what if I put them in a bag with Zip disks (or some similar magnetic storage media)?

All headphones have magnets in them. So do all speakers. (Now somebody's going to point out some obscure brand that doesn't!) They're very, very low power in headphones - just enough to drive tiny speaker coils. You're not going to damage zip disks or any other magnetic media with them. I don't know what you mean by "both plugs", but rest assured, you can treat them as you would any other headphones.

What I mean by both plugs is, can I put both earplugs together in the same pocket (seeing as when I bring them next to each other, they tend to repel each other).
Thanks for the info though!

Yes, you can.

The magnets are strong enough for the headphones to repel each other? I've never noticed, but I never really checked.

At any rate, it doesn't matter. If you can get 'em both in the same pocket, go ahead ;-)
