After not supporting Jaguar for some time, HP recently released new drivers for its multifunction devices. I have an HP G85, and I tried installing the new drivers last night.

Has anyone successfully installed them? When I tried, it kept telling me I had an outdated version of the "HP Communications" software... I don't know what the hell that is. I looked at the HP site and couldn't find anything about it.... A second attempt at installing produced the same results.

I tried to print, just to see if I had at least installed sufficient components for that, but it was a no-go.

Any advice?

For several days HP had a message on this page http://www.hp.com/cposupport/printer.../bpm30153.html saying that they were aware of the problem, were working with Apple to resolve it, and that an updated driver would be available "the third week in September". Then, a few days ago the message on that page changed to "available by the end of September". Go there now and it appears they've posted a "new" driver. But the document is not dated (is something new today? yesterday? two weeks ago?) and following the download link yields a driver search page. Search there for the g85 and you'll find the download page for the driver (4.6.2) that's giving us trouble in the first place.

Is there a bottom line to this? I dunno. They appear to be working on it and hopefully we'll only have to wait a few more days for something that works.

Cheers

I'm resurrecting this thread to see if anyone else has any experience with getting the G85 to work (or inability to do so) under 10.2.

Anyone? Any experience with any other HP products? I haven't been able to get any info out of HP yet, and this is getting really frustrating. It's an expensive device to just be sitting there taking up space.
